Happy Kwanzaa!!!

Today is the first day of Kwanzaa which is celebrated December 26th thru January 1st and for those of you that don't know what Kwanzaa is it is a celebration of family, community and culture. It brings a sense of what it means to be an African-American. I can honestly say I have experienced some racism throughout my life but I have always been and always will be proud to be an African-American!!!!!!

Today's Naguzo Saba which means " the seven principles" in Swahili is Umoja which means "Unity". Let's do our best today to bring unity to our families, communities, nation and race.

The Seven Principles of Kwanzaa are:

Umoja: Unity
Kujichagulia: Self Determination
Ujima: Collective Work and Responsibility
Ujamaa: Cooperation
Nia: Purpose
Kuumba: Creativity
Imani: Faith

Happy Kwanzaa!!!
